Gameday Thread, NLDS #3 OVERFLOW: 10/4 vs Brewers
Ah, Lead! How we hath missed you, dear friend Lead! Arizona has an 8-1 lead going into the 6th inning. Miguel Montero has two RBIs, Josh Collmenter is cruising, and of course, it wouldn't be a Diamondbacks game without an out on the basepaths (Justin Upton out at home).
Oh, and did I mention Paul Goldschmidt hit a grand slam? Looks like Glove Tossing is becoming an NLDS tradition...

Ummm lots of modular arithmetic
And theories involving coprime numbers and their modular congruencies.
And in case you’re wondering, yes, I did make this sound much more difficult than it really is.

by The so-called Beautiful on Oct 4, 2011 11:45 PM EDT up reply actions
Exactly.
ESPN doesn’t have enough air time to talk too in depth about all teams. So they stick to the teams with the most fans, Red Sox/Yanks/Phillies etc. Then the rest of the time it’s all about football. I mean on Sunday, Sportscenter was about 95% 4TH WEEK football and 5% PLAYOFF baseball.
I love football as much as anyone but I know there is a difference between playoff baseball and first quarter of the season football.

I like him at 5 hole too
Just not sold on Miggy at 4 next yr. think he had a career yr and better hired for 6 hole

w/ Upton and Miggy. Parra or Drew hitting second, the other hitting 6th. Nice lineup

Not sold on 8m for Hill
What’s Saunders? 6 or 7?
likely $7 million
i’m still fairly certain Saunders won’t be back next year. we’ll tender him, but i’m pretty sure he’ll be traded.
he just doesn’t make sense for our roster/future.

So take 8 for hill and 7 for Saunders
That’s 13 for David wright and think he’s around that next yr. Move tyro to 2b. Really want to see Upton protected next yr.
I don't think Saunders will be traded
He loves it here so I think he’ll want to re-sign

In my opinion...
I wouldn’t do it, we kept him on a strict limit all year for health related issues, but also as a mental thing. He didn’t seem to do as well in the lower leverage situations, if they were to score a couple of runs off him tonight in garbage time, they’d have confidence against him in a real save situation.

question
I heard Saunders was injured, so if he starts next game and has a bad inning, do we put in IPK and hope for the win then go with Huddy for game 5 if it gets that far?
Not IPK
I’d rather put Hudson in tomorrow if it came down to that.
Or Parker, or Owings, or whatever. But you’ve got to save IPK for a possible Game 5.
