Hang on, didn't we just face the Padres? Who do they think they are, playing us so often - the Colorado Rockies? This game is a rematch of the contest last Wednesday, which didn't end well for the Diamondbacks - they were 9-2 down by the end of the fourth inning, thanks to a combination of poor defense and Saunders' ineffectiveness. However, since then they have played the Giants hard in three games, taking two of them, so we'll see if we can start this series off on the right foot.

Curious that we sit LaRoche, close to our hottest hitter for the month (it's him or Drew), and leave Parra to start against a left-hander. Hopefully, Gerardo will do something good, to prove that this wasn't a mistake. Not got much more to say, except I am working on something Very Special for the off-day on Thursday. My lips are sealed as to what that might be, however. Please feel free to make wild, unsubstantiated guesses in the comments.

What fascinates me about Star Wars

i don't really have much of an opinion on this
i think it could be okay either way. part of me thinks it’s kind of weird that different parks have different dimensions, and that if you really want to make the game more fair you would try to keep things equal at all parks
on the other hand, i feel like it makes sense for why teams want to give themselves a home field advantage, and it does also add more appeal to baseball as a whole when different parks have different attributes

then he’s missing something. The Braves org is pretty good with evaluating (and overmarketing) their pitching
