Per the Yahoo/AP one:

“The Diamondbacks made the move before Tuesday night’s game at San Diego.

The 30-year-old Crosby was acquired in a multiplayer trade with Pittsburgh on July 31. He hit .167 with two doubles and two RBIs in nine games for the Diamondbacks.

The 29-year-old Roberts hit .176 with three RBIs in 12 games for Arizona before being sent down June 20."

I still don't understand the Snyder trade.

It wasn’t exactly a loss, but we could’ve gotten a couple of nice relievers for him (I realize we got Carrasco). Church and Crosby serve us nothing.

With Snyder’s contract.

Getting Crosby and Church was just another way to take on salary.

I don’t really mean two above average relievers, just a couple of dependable guys out of the ‘pen. It really isn’t that unreasonable. Crosby and Church are role players that are very easy to find on the open market. I’m not sure what they add.

plus… using an NBA term… these are both ‘expiring’ contracts, that have nothing at the end of this year… so it was more to balance the money a bit
