As promised, three losses in a row means the return of Tankapalooza. Look forward to a more detailed, and expanded, analysis of the top ten tomorrow morning, but for now, what matters is that we are all alone in third place, and facing a rather good rookie pitcher for the Reds tonight. Can we avoid the sweep?
Not seen a line-up as such, but I'll be rattling around the house this evening, so should be able to plug one in before first-pitch. Quite keen to see Wood, who I am keen to see. He has had eight appearances this year, made six quality starts and took a no-hitter into the ninth against the Phillies earlier this season - in his fourth major-league start. Opponents are batting .175 off him this year (admittedly a seriously-BABIP affected rate). Still, one wonders whether last night's debacle - surely one of the five worst losses of a bad season - will affect the team, possibly for good or bad.
Hey! I'm on the recap! My first one since Saturday.Which was also the last time the team pulled out a W. Coincidence? Or something more significant? We'll find out tonight, I guess.
[Update] Seth checks in from Chase with the pre-game notes and this quote from Cap'n Kirk: "It's been frustrating around here. I will continue, along with my coaching staff, to make sure they understand. We're not going to assume they understand that. We'll continue to push the baseball acumen, we'll continue to push fundamental stuff." Was just chatting to Seth, who said Gibson also talked a lot about Bryan Price: he tried to talk Price out of leaving, and there is apparently more about that story he can't talk about. Hmm... Anyway, line-up time!

I was wearing a long-sleeved lab coat, full-face welder’s mask, gloves, and ear protection, yet sparks of steel managed to get up my sleeves, down my socks, and through my hair to my scalp.
Should really wear a hard hat too next time.

Nah.
Just tiny flecks of glowing red steel. Soon as they hit my skin, it wicks the heat away (burning for a split second) and cools off.
The problem is that it makes me flinch, which can be dangerous when I’ve got a chop saw in one hand and a big piece of steel in the other.

Yeah luckily I was okay enough
I drank a ton of water today and instead of using my straw hat (since it’s falling apart but then it’s a couple years old), I took my umbrella and shaded myself with it. Worked much better

I actually thoroughly enjoyed The Happening.
Still have yet to see Unbreakable, though. I really love Shymalan’s movies, despite the popular consensus being that he’s terrible. I’ve avoided The Last Airbender like the plague, though.

True enough.
His trick hasn’t changed much here, although he at least displays a wider range on both sides — some quality scenes where he’s showing off more emotion, and some surprising good action work. If nothing else, he doesn’t detract from the movie.
But if you’ve soured on his shtick by now, it may be too much to overcome. Still, it’s his best work in the role yet, and there’s two (count ’em, two!) chick fights, which I know you enjoy. lol

What I find fascinating
