Edwin Jackson next to go?
This coming from Mlbtraderumors.
It wouldn't be late July without rumors of intriguing three-team deals. ESPN's Jayson Stark:
Rumblings continue to surface about a possible three-team deal involving the Nationals, White Sox and Diamondbacks that would send Edwin Jackson to Washington, Adam Dunn to Chicago and a bunch of young pitchers to Arizona.
We know the Nationals like Jackson and the White Sox like Dunn, so perhaps the D'Backs can facilitate a deal and further stock up on prospects. Jackson, who is no stranger to three-team deals, has a 5.01 ERA, 7.0 K/9, and 4.0 BB/9 in 20 starts for Arizona. On the plus side, he turns 27 in September, averages 94 mph on his fastball, and is signed for next year. As he was with Dan Haren, D'Backs interim GM Jerry Dipoto might be forced to sell low on Jackson.
I'd be up for this if we actually get a favorable return unlike our last trade appears to have been. Although I would also like to try and sign Jackson long term and see if he cold be our ace of the future, remember, he's only 26.

No. NONONO! DiPoto was not forced to sell low on Haren. Unless they opened up Dan’s chest and found a ticking timebomb (which is debatable, but I think the majority here think not true), then there was no significant reason I can see we couldn’t have waited until A) the trade deadline or B) the offseason or C) he hits FA and we get 2 draft picks.
Despite this year’s struggles, Dan is firmly Type A.

I think the ownership
demanded they sell low. DiPoto isn’t going to get the GM job unless he does exactly what they say.
Although I pray that DiPoto doesn’t end up being the GM.

he may not be type A
by the time he reaches free agency
type A is based on previous two years

Except I didn't say anything about
him being a Type A…?

And he replied to me,
and I never said anything about that.
And it’s not very good to tell jokes when that person has no clue what it means.

i'm praying
we somehow manage to get drew storen out of this
or maybe we can take advantage of the white sox somehow….
Nope. Only way we would have gotten a Storen level prospect was with the guy who just left the building. (Not saying the Nats would have tried to get Haren, just saying that type of prospect could have only been nabbed with Haren.)
Instead we got a bologna sub, two ham sandwiches, and a side of fries.

I like ham sandwiches.

It's not
summer until the Diamondbacks and White Sox make a trade.
No crying in the Snakepit. That's what your apartment is for.
If they trade Jackson
the next 2 to 3 years will suck even worse than now. It will mean that they’ve thrown in the towel and are waiting for 2013 and the kids in A ball to make it!
I think the trade of Haren
Already signified that. No point paying Jackson the big bucks to hang round for a couple of years, if we aren’t going to be competing.

Yep.
No way you trade Haren if you are wanting to compete. Washington will have a better record than us in 2011, mark my words.
Nice strikeout!

Except that I don’t think anyone thinks E-Jack will ever be an “ace”.

Probably kishi does.
