SnakeBytes, 7/22: Sweep Edition

A sweep.  That's...  Well, it's just sort of depressing that it took that long, but it's great to see the team actually pull it off.  And to do it by beating the Mets, the least-favorite team of my childhood, is even better.  Good series, guys.  You can call this a legitimate, actual win streak, Gibby.  Now take that momentum and carry it on to the next game.

There's your links for the afternoon.  We face off against the Giants and Matt Cain tonight- can we stretch this win streak a little?

Weren’t there some concerns about Timmay’s delivery mechanics when he came up? Could those be catching up?

There were certainly concerns

About his pitch-counts. Last year, as a 23-24 year old, he had five games where he threw over 120 pitches, and peaked at 138.

[mlb.com] Band of brothers: Pastime unites siblings – A look at brothers in the Majors. With three players, I wonder if we lead the league?

We’ve also had Scott Hairston, both Hernandezes, Andy Benes, etc.

[fangraphs.com] Is Timmy Broken? – We’re facing Tim Lincecum on Sunday, but before that, FanGraphs looks at Timmy’s pitch velocity in his last start, and wonders if there’s something wrong.

More trade rumors:

According to Fox Sports, the Yankees, Phillies, Cardinals, Twins and Tigers are all interested in Haren. Of those teams, ugh, I guess the Twins? Just not the Yankees or the Phillies.

Also, apparently the Dodgers asked about Cody Ross. This isn’t DBacks related, obviously, I just wanted to take another opportunity to state how much I dislike Cody Ross and his stupid beady little eyes. That’s all.

I just don't know about dealing away Haren

it is starting to sound very likely but I would be teh sad if it happened.

I think the Diamondbacks should trade Dan Haren and Adam LaRoche

to the Rockies

Sure

For Ubaldo and half of the roster of Colorado Springs

You can have half the roster of Colorado Springs

If you’re not including Chacin, who was just sent down today, McKenry, Nelson and Rogers are the only true prospects down there. And Ubaldo has sucked lately. But no U for you
