Do we think the Diamondbacks will finally show up after the All-Star break today? Because they sure as hell didn't make an appearance yesterday, in the abomination which was the 12-1 loss. With that, we'll move rapidly on - at least tonight's game has a semi-civilized starting hour, so even if the agony is as prolonged as it was last night, I should still have some time to enjoy the evening.

We've never actually faced Richard before, but he is a left-hander, so Gerardo Parra gets to sit on the bench, with Ryal an interesting choice to replace him in left-field. Montero similarly sits this one out, which makes sense given his .222/.273/.333 line against lefties this year. Mrs. SnakePit is going to be late picking me up from work, so I'll be there for the first couple of innings, before we head off, perhaps to forage for dinner. Hopefully, it'll be a game worthy of less gloomy comments than last night.

I try to explain to everyone over here that in America it isn’t just white people eating what white people eat. There are a bajillion ethnic groups doing their own foods and doing them very well. So when I say I miss American food, I miss what represents America, diversity. I miss Mexican, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish so on and so forth.
The Chinese people I talk to don’t really seem to grasp that concept. They just laugh at me and tell me how much better Chinese food is better than McDonald’s. I just shake my head and continue weeping silently to myself.
