Well, no luck for Gibson last night. We'll need to see some more offense if he wants to have a shot at winning his first series as a manager and maybe going into the All Star break on the most meager of winning streaks.
Recaps:
-
[azcentral.com] Dan Haren, Arizona Diamondbacks fall to Florida Marlins - "I felt like I gave up a bunch of hard-hit balls, but it was a couple of soft-hit balls were the ones that killed me."
-
[miamiherald.com] Nolasco, Marlins hold off Diamondbacks - Oh, let's be honest, Miami Herald. Keeping the DBacks offense quiet doesn't necessarily take all-star like skills. A lot of the time, they'll do most of the difficult part.
-
[tsn.ca] Nolasco, Marlins handle Diamondbacks - Since the start of June, Dan Haren has a 3.05 ERA and a 2-3 record. The team is 2-6 in his starts over that time.
-
[fishstripes.com] Fish Wrap - Marlins 3, Diamondbacks 2 - "Dan 'Captain Morgan' Haren." I like that. I'm still gonna go with the Matrix reference, though.
I had a dream last night that we had to start producing all our posts as YouTube videos, because someone who was illiterate complained. Let me tell you, it was apparently quite a hassle getting these links into video format.

[MLB FanHouse] Source: Diamondbacks Ready to Listen on Dan Haren Offers - "Everybody is available except Justin Upton." I think we'll listen on everyone, but I'd be very surprised if we got a good enough offer to get Haren.

[foxsports.com] Buzz: Latest news from around the horn - Latest reports say there were scouts from the Phillies, Dodgers, Reds, White Sox, Angels, and Yankees in attendance yesterday. Were they watching Haren or Nolasco?
-
[nytimes.com] Not All-Stars, but All-Important - The New York Times looks at players who didn't make the All Star roster, but have had a big impact on their team. Kelly Johnson gets named for the DBacks.
-
[dbacks.com] Young has chance for 30-30 season - He's currently on pace for 28 home runs and 30 stolen bases, though if the aggressiveness on the base paths continues, he'll probably end up swiping more.

-
[mlblogs.com] Porcello update: "Not a ... chance" he gets traded - Jim Leyland says the Porcello rumors are a blatant lie, and "there's not even a chance that Rick Porcello is going to be traded." Of course, rumors state otherwise, and managers don't make trades. So why move his start back a day?

[nytimes.com] Rangers Get Lee - Yanks Feel Used - Aw, poor Yankees. It must be so hard to- yeah, okay, I can't even feign sympathy that long. No one cares, Yankees.
