The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today they have reinstated catcher Miguel Montero from the 15-day disabled list and optioned catcher John Hester to Triple-A Reno, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Josh Byrnes.

Montero, 26, was placed on the disabled list on April 11 with a right knee sprain and underwent successful surgery to repair a partial meniscus tear in his right knee on April 15. He completed a 4-game rehab assignment with the Aces on Friday, batting .333 (5-for-15) with a run scored and 2 RBI. Prior to his stint on the disabled list, Montero was hitting .500 (6-for-12) with a run scored, double and 3 RBI in 4 games with the D-backs.

Hester, 26, played in 20 games for the D-backs, compiling a .188 average (9-for-48) with 6 runs scored, 3 doubles and 3 RBI.
