Jose Lima's characteristic dance moves and zany sense of humor have been silenced, due to a massive heart attack he suffered in his sleep, according to his wife. Paramedics were called and they were not able to revive him.
Baseball fans will always remember him climbing on top of dugouts and singing, along with dancing, in between innings. He had a great sense of humor and brought it often to the game, enlightening the clubhouses of the teams he pitched for.
I met him here in Arizona a few seasons ago during his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was a very nice man and enjoyed talking with fans. I will always remember his infectious smile and personality.
RIP Jose! You'll be sorely missed by all who love the game.
