Clay Zavada Out for Season

We won't see Clay Zavada now...or next year either...he had Tommy John surgery :( This comes directly from Steve Gilbert via Twitter:

#Dbacks LHP Clay Zavada has Tommy John Surgery. Will miss the rest of the season.

Well now we know why he was having such control problems since Spring Training. Poor Clay! My heart goes out to him and I wish him a good recovery!

So much for having any glimpse of The 'Stache here in Phoenix this summer...

Oh so sad! And I wonder how the money works out for that? I know how hard he had to work to make ends meet before he got called up and after surgery,how could that be possible?

But then when his dad passed on, Clay and his brother may have inherited some money from their dad and of course any possessions he left to the boys

With as many games as I went to last season, I got to know Clay a little bit. He is a great guy, has a fantastic sense of humor, and an awesome personality. Also, quite mature for his age, but I think his dad’s passing and everything Clay has gone through helped make him that way. Such a sad shame he’s enduring this now.
