Diamondbacks designated RHP Blaine Boyer for assignment. The 28-year-old righty has been a big part of Arizona's bullpen struggles this season, allowing 11 earned runs and 17 hits in 12 2/3 innings of relief. He was out of options, so the DFAing was necessary (and warranted).
