"Baseball commissioner Bud Selig is ignoring calls to move next year's All-Star game from Phoenix because of Arizona's new immigration law."
Ozzie Guillen is a little butt hurt and won't show, but who knows if he'll even have a job by then

dude
they are crying some bitter tears over the Coyotes situation…. The BAN hammer has been busy over at Five for Howling

It’s mentioned in SnakeBytes too, but I think it’s important enough to merit its spot.
I hope that’s the end of the matter. But I’ve a feeling it won’t be.

I'll bet
the union will press MLB on this still.
Letting our bullpen pitch is like playing Russian Roulette...
...with an automatic.
I would bet money it won't be.
Through I doubt it will be an issue by the time the game comes around next year. Boycotts rarely last long.
Well there's your problem!
the funny part is
this law is being used to get rid of unwanted individuals from the state of Arizona (illegals and liberals) and the ones doing the boycotting are of that type. So they’re kind of doing Arizona a favor in a round about way.
Of course that is a broooaaaddd interpretation of the purpose of the law.

I honestly thought Selig would have been
more circumspect and tried to please both sides by waiting until the law was struck down to say nothing was changing.

Me too.
He’s usually ambivalent about pretty much everything.

Now he's going to get twice as many cancellations if it
doesn’t get struck down: Pro-boycott people, baseball people and anti-boycott people.

Remember the point of the ASG was to goose our
season ticket numbers. Cancellations would be going in the wrong direction.

Hmmm....
well I don’t think anti-boycott ppl would cancel.

If it got pulled?
There would be people P.O.ed about the forces of P.C.-ness and such. Not to mention that the season ticket campaign was built around the ASG.

Well, yeah.
But Bud says he’s not gonna pull it, which was, I thought, the assumption under which we were working?
I don’t understand your assertion that everyone is gonna be pissed.

However, he's going to have to
double back on his decision if it’s not struck down because of public pressure.
