Gameday Thread: 4/3 vs. Cubs

Well, the next time I write the words "Gameday Thread," it's gonna count... One final spring tune-up for Arizona, who can level their overall pre-season record at 16-16 with a victory today, which would also see them head into the regular campaign on a (meaningless, admittedly) four-game winning streak. And, of course, beating the Cubs is always a pleasure.

As noted elsewhere on the 'Pit, the roster has solidified itself, with the confirmation that Tony Abreu and Jordan Norberto have made the team. That leaves just one spot open, with the decision coming down to between our Rated-R Superstars, Ryan Roberts and Rusty Ryal. With neither of them in the starting line-up this afternoon, it seems the decision has likely already been made... And as I type these words, I see 'charmer is reporting that Ryal has got the nod. Time to finalize that roster on the sidebar!

Lineup after the jump. Game is on WGN this afternoon - presuming it's not blacked out in the Arizona area. Wonder if we'll get to 1,000 comments today, having heroically failed last night, despite some magnificent efforts on the comment padding front?

Star-divide

  1. Conor Jackson LF
  2. Stephen Drew SS
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Adam LaRoche 1B
  5. Mark Reynolds 3B
  6. Chris Young CF
  7. Kelly Johnson 2B
  8. Chris Snyder C
  9. Barry Enright RHP

Some random guy I don't know on the Cubs

Singled up the middle and scored two… I think. Not 100%.

Either way, next guy flew out to right, half-inning over…

I might be upset… :-)

He sure did :)

He would have stopped afterwards but had two busses full of Cubs (and Chad Tracy) on his tail so he bid us farewell but gave me the biggest smile as he was leaving :)

I don't think so

I doubt he’ll be much more than a PH/fill-in player this year. We’ve got younger and/or better players for that role.
