First of all, welcome!

The purpose of this FanPost is to ask the influx of newer people (and lurkers who have yet to reveal themselves) about terminology.  More specifically, like any community, the Snakepit has it's own lexicon.  There are certain things we say or reference that might not make any sense.  We're trying to get a "user guide" updated, but I'm having a hell of a time thinking of things simply because many things are so second nature they don't occur to me!

So that's where you come in!

 What are some of the terms or phrases you've heard that you wonder about here?  Or maybe something was explained recently that you think other people will wonder about.  Include it here, and we'll try to pick out the biggest things for the next documentation.
