If you thought we've been hitting better this spring, that's exactly the case. The Diamondbacks so far have an OPS of .922 in spring training - that's more than fifty points better than the next team. They're hitting a collective line of .327/.389/.532, and are the first team to score a hundred runs this spring.

Would be nice to see that hold up through the summer

but also seeing that Boston, NY, and both LA(of A) teams are 4 of the bottom 5 sharply remind me we’re still in spring.

Hopefully the hitting carries into the regular season

Especially Young and Drew. I’m sure most of regulars won’t have OPS’s above 1.000 like they do now, but continued above average hitting would be nice.

This

Wow......

yeah, I really THOUGHT it seemed like we’ve been crushing the ball lately.

Granted, TEP’s park factors are THROUGH THE ROOF….. but still.

Additionally,

teams that Spring Train in the Phx area don’t always bring their “A” team down to Tucson to play the Dbacks and Rockies.

Errr…. I mean, YEAH! WE ROCK!!!! WE R SO AWESUM

No doubt, these are good reasons playing into it

But I’m pretty sure we didn’t have a team OPS above .900 last spring. Certainly beat sucking. :-)

Oh, no doubt.

It’s way better to kick ass in Spring Training than suck, no matter the reason.

I also notice

that Upton’s leading the league in RBIs, and is tied for 3rd (with, among others, Rusty) in HRs.

I'm a bit disappointed

that Mark is only tied for 13th in K’s. That needs to change, Mark.

Droo

has been caught stealing more than anyone else this spring, though.

Rather

In theory,

but better to be on base than in the dugout.

You know, Jim,

I don’t think we’ve been hitting so well since you posted this…
