MLB Extra Innings on Comcast
I know I am not an active member with y'all, but I check the site everyday. I moved away from Arizona last August for law school in the Northwest. My question is if anyone has had MLB Extra Innings from Comcast or any other cable provider (not DirecTV)? I want to buy it, but have heard horror stories from other people who have purchased it through Insight, Comcast, etc. and don't ever get to see their home teams. I was a four year D'bax season ticket holder and want to be sure my purchase is worthwhile so I can hear Gracie and Sutton, etc.
Thanks in advance!

I guess I should clarify
Hit submit too quick. I have a friend who is a Reds fan who has Comcast and the Reds games are never on for him on Extra Innings. I don’t want to purchase it if the Snakes are never on. Has anyone out of the AZ market had a problem with it?

My first instinct is
You are talking local market blackouts. You don’t say exactly where you are, but I’d suspect that won’t be an issue in the Northwest, as that is not seen as Arizona territory. There’s no rhyme or reason to that – Las Vegas is in three or four teams’ claims, if I recall. Here’s the map showing you what’s considered “territory” [click to enlarge, in new window]
ALL LIVE MLB.TV games will be blacked out in each applicable Club’s home television territory (except for certain home television territories for which MLB.com may offer in-market subscription services) or in Japan.
If there’s something else, I can’t say I’m familiar with it.

If memory serves
Las Vegas is the territory of six teams, which is just crazy. Iowa, despite not having any professional teams, is blocked out for three or four teams, I think.

Yeah
I pretty much can’t watch anything here but Dodger games on FSN.

When I lived in Yuma
I had access to three teams on TV: Diamondbacks, Angels, and Dodgers. For all the bad things about Yuma, who’d have thought that it was a veritable baseball paradise?
All targets neutralized. Program completed. By your command.
Good info, but I am not talking about local market blackouts.
My Reds fan friend lives in Seattle and he said he received only about 1/3 of the Reds games due to some issue with Comcast/Extra Innings. However, that was 2 years ago, so I was hoping for someone with experience
I am in Salem, OR (just south of Portland.)

Ah, indeed
Per Wikipedia
Comcast restricts its customers from viewing MLB Extra Innings games in HD. Comcast’s restriction on HD broadcasts add to existing blackout restrictions in some broadcast markets… This blackout restriction is applied to both MLB Extra Innings and all local and regional broadcast stations.
It seems a bit murky, and I have not been able to find our more info. I would definitely suggest checking with Comcast. If you can get something in writing, so much the better.

Thanks, Jim
I’ll call Comcast at some point. Thought I’d try here first as I hate asking the cable company anything. I called to ask about the NCAA Full Court package last fall and told them no. Lo and behold they put a $170ish charge on my account that I am still trying to get resolved.

Why not
get the dish?
I keep trying to reset my password to "penis", but it keeps telling me "too short".
I've always found it insulting
that the Padres consider half of Arizona to be “their” territory. Screw the Padres.

I've had no problems on DirecTV
and I live in SF. It USED to be that you could only see one team’s broadcast (usually the home team), but at least last year, if they were in HD I was usually able to pick whichever one I wanted.
I know you’re not asking about satellite, you’re asking about Comcast, just wanted to share how the others work…
