Khalil Greene Not Reporting to Spring Training
Texas Rangers utilty-man Khalil Greene is apparently not reporting to camp because of personal issues. There is a slight Diamondbacks connection here, as Greene was signed by the Rangers after they couldn't pry Augie Ojeda from the D-Backs to fill a similar role. Could Greene's absence prompt the Rangers to re-engage the Snakes for Ojeda, and if so, how much would they now be willing to give? Other options are sparse, with the possible exception of Felipe Lopez, who may not be willing to take a utility job.

Really surprised no-one has pounced on him; he was very productive with both us and the Brewers last year. It seems likely his demands were still perceived as excessive.
The Rangers do seem to have some internal options. But desperation is the mother of good trades for other teams…

As much as I make fun of the guy, I do really feel sorry for him. Being tormented by the whims of your brain chemistry is awful.
