Happy Halloween weekend! Baseball certainly seems to be into the spirit- the Giants are wearing black and orange for their colors, and the Rangers are running back to Texas, terrified after getting mauled in the first two games of the World Series.

• [SF Gate] SF Giants' Matt Cain is rock steady amid anarchy - Lee, Halladay, Lincecum- a lot of pitchers have had a lot of attention in the playoffs so far, but it's probably slipped a lot of people's attention that Matt Cain is 3-0 and has only allowed one run (unearned) in 21.1 innings in his three starts.

• [Dallas News] Going home is only bright spot for struggling Rangers - Meanwhile, the Rangers gave up more runs in two games in San Francisco than they did in six games against the Yankees. Ouch.

• [MLB] Giants' Guillen tied to HGH probe - Is it just me, or does SF, along with Texas, seem more frequently tied to PEDs than most teams? Geographic proximity to BALCO maybe?

• [AZ Central] Honus Wagner card willed to Baltimore convent -  "An un-named gentleman who never had been married or had kids passed away and left a collection of coins, artifacts and baseball cards to the convent, where his late sister had been a sister, uh, a nun." The card was laminated? Ouch. But still, kind of cool.
