All-Star Freeman Notes

To really evaluate Freeman look at the overall numbers and how he impacted his team. Before he came to Yakima they sucked. After he came (they did not add hardly any other players at all) he immediately established a starting role at second. All he did on the field was go from 7th in the order to leadoff in a month, lead the team in hitting and 2nd in the league adjusting from metal to wood bat in the process(.333), OBP, steal 20/23 bases in only 53 games, made only 4 errors in those games leading the league at 2nd (he averaged about a web-gem a game), and lead the team to its first playoff in 10 years in the 2nd half......thats all. Not to mention he was also a great clubhouse guy and assumed a leadership role and the fans loved his all-out hustle every play. I followed Yakima the whole season, it was a completely different team once Freeman showed up. The guy has a full tool box and not just a bat in it. I just hope he stays off other clubs radars.
