Garland is an extremely average pitcher, lots of mediocre innings, so he’ll be an improvement for San Diego.
I was rather happy with S.D. being a weakling.

They see how much fun it is to have a good player and think to themselves, man, if only we could have one and a half of this guy filling two roster spots…oh wait, we can! He does have a lesser talented brother we can sign!
In fact, this could actually turn into a pretty sweet motto for them.
