Tim Lincecum was scratched from his next start with back inflammation. Back issues with that delivery - huuuuge surprise. Also, Madison Bumgarner was recalled to take his place. Should be interesting to see him make his debut. Lots of interesting debuts this year, both with AZ and around the league.

It was interesting...

…until it wasn’t.

Oh , the new pitcher was the interesting part. He held up all right , watched his mistakes fly away , came right back at ’em.

But the same old offense showed up as well , and Poseygate deepened.

Poseygate , in case you’re too bored to not care , is where a catcher with a ton of upside (Buster Posey) is brought up…the starting catcher (Bengie Molina)is hitting half his weight…the team is actually considered by some to be a shot at the Wild card…the other rookie catcher can’t hit at all…and the manager makes bald – faced lies about why he can’t start or even sub for an inning said callup.

Rampant speculation ensues. One opinion is that it’s a pissing match between Sabean and Bochy , that Bochy is in essence saying “You can bring him up but you can’t make me play him.”

Sure , the pitching holds the opposition to two or three runs but we still lose 3-2 and 2-1 because the manager is a veteran – loving fool.

I’ve been wondering why Posey hasn’t played at all.

As a fan of another NL West team, I hope Sabean doesn’t fire Bochy over the offseason.
