Charity begins at home (but you can get some very cool stuff too!)
The Diamondbacks are clearly feeling in a giving mood - after all, they donated three runs to the Dodgers last night. [Hah!] But they aren't stopping there, with their involvement in a couple of charitable fundraisers deserving of mention. Firstly, the team will be donating $2.50 from the sale of every ticket, now through the end of the season, to the Valley of the Sun United Way. This is the return of a program they had in 2007, which ended up raising over $600,000 - though the amount per ticket and number of home games is smaller here. However, this time, Ken Kendrick will match the first $150,000.
Secondly, I've got the list of items that are being offered on Friday, as part of the annual auction where they are teaming up with FOX Sports Arizona, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Tempe Marketplace, with the proceeds benefiting Augie's Quest and the battle against ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). There are two sections: a silent auction at Tempe Marketplace, and a phone-in one during Friday night's game. In order to bid in the silent auction, fans must be at Tempe Marketplace. For the other items, viewers bid by calling 1-800-952-5334 or 602-462-3899 - the auction concludes at the end of the "Qwest Diamondbacks Live" post-game show.
Details of both sets of items can be found after the jump.

Yeah, there is
I love that place.

The one in Sanibel?
My grandparents have a house there, and have had at least a condo there since I was like 5, so I’ve been going to the original one since I was 7 or so.
