And the man who once ran the Diamondbacks scouting division will be be replaced by Arizona vice president Jerry DiPoto, the guy who currently runs the Diamondbacks pro scouting?
Really, Nationals, you can feel free to look other places for new executives...
[Update] But the Associated Press now says he will actually be given the permanent GM job. "Rizzo might have been Washington's acting general manager, but he was still technically an assistant GM. Now he will be moved up to GM, the Associated Press reported Wednesday night, citing two people familiar with the negotiations."

They’re very legitimate contenders for Bryce Harper. Especially since Strasburg will be pitching every five days for the Natinals next season, and Donovan Tate certainly will not be in the majors at that point. And the Pads will have probably dealt Adrian Gonzalez and/or Heath Bell by that point.

The Nats will have next year’s first pick and therefore the rights to Harper (assuming he gets everything together and gets through the GED and one year of JC).
