Tucson Snakepit Meetup?
Hey guys! I know that DbacksSkins has rounded up three of the Tucson 'Pitters for a Toros game (at different times) but I've met him before, and I want to meet the rest of you.
I know it's been suggested before, but let's all go to a Toros game. I know scheduling is usually somewhat difficult, but if it helps, I can to do pretty much any game except for the last two weekends in July. So check out the Toros schedule (opens in a new window) and leave any dates you'd be available in the comments!
(Yes, any Phoenix/Flagstaff/wherever 'Pitters who want to drive down to join us are welcome as well.)
Hopefully, someone more powerful than myself will be awesome and promote this to the front page... :-)
[Bumped again, since we're two weeks less than a week away from the scheduled date!]

Pick a day, and I’ll see if I (and mrskishi) can make it down. Saturday, Sunday, or Monday would work best for us.

Sunday would be most likely for us
I work Saturdays, so that’s out for us. But arrange it whenever you want, as I can’t guarantee we’ll be able to make it. Sounds like fun though!
And rec’d, for keeping it around longer porpoises…

Rec'd.
Since ‘charmer recommends we all just rec it rather than Frontpaging it, I’ll leave it here.
I won’t be around much the rest of June, until the last week. Thursday nights through Sunday nights are the best for me. I’ll go whenever, I’ve already seen ’em twice. (And we had a lot of fun each time…. for different reasons)

Everyday I have a dbacks meetup and the only friends who show up are Miller Genuine Draft and Marlboro.

Less a fan of Stella, personally, but the other two are good.
Jim’s a big Stella drinker, IIRC.

Somewhat doable
But not very satisfying. I mean, you want me to work all day and then drive for an hour to see the last few innings of a game?
And it’s not like I’ll have much life left in me to do any partying. That and the fact that I’m not 21 until August.

Alright.
For my part, I’ll very likely be in Denver the week/weekend of August 8th. August 15th, I have a Mt. Lemmon drive w/ a club, but the Toros will be in Chico anyway. August 29th is SnakePitFestAPaloozaThon 3.0.
It sounds like if we go on a Sunday, the Snakepit Royal Family can make it, which would be fun. I’m going to make an executive decision here and say that we’re either going to do this the weekend of August 21st-23rd, against the Orange County Flyers, or the same weekend as SPFAPT3.0, the 28th-30th (which is also the Toros’ season finale series, against the St. George Roadrunners). Obviously the 29th is out. Would people planning on going to SPFAPT3.0 feel too baseballed-out if we went on Friday the 28th or Sunday the 30th? Because if so, we could make it the previous weekend, the 21st-23rd.
We could also go both weekends.

Toros game :)
I have a couple buddies that live in Tucson. I may have to ask them if they’d be up for doing a Toros game one of those weekends. If so, I’d come down from my respective Chandler to meet you all. I’d even sport one of my Toros jerseys I won through Sidewinders auctions a few seasons ago and the Toros hat I got from Noochie Varner the last season I lived in Tucson (2004).
However, if this doesn’t come in to fruiotion for me, how many of you will make it up to any remaining Dbacks games the rest of the season? Let me know when you will be at a game and I’d gladly meet you in person :)

The closest
BWW is Broadway and Harrison, Closest Chili’s (that I know of) is Broadway and Craycroft, and there’s an Applebee’s at Park Place Mall (Broadway and Wilmot)
Yes, I know anyone coming down from Phoenix will have no freakin idea what I’m talking about, but I offer those up for consideration for the Tucson ’Pitters.

well there is
a Risky’s Business at Craycroft and Harrison, that’s a bit more TV friendly than Appleby’s or Chili’s.

Happy to leave that decision to the Tucsoners
Basically, big TVs and cheap snacks – we’re going to be there for at least three hours, so it can’t be too much of a cash drain! Of course, it should probably have wi-fi, ideally too, for GDT purposes… But at least ‘Charmer is on the recap so we don’t have to worry about getting that done.

What time do you get off work?

I’m off at 5:30 but I can hang out in the break room until whenever. And of course I don’t mind about Wes and Emily. As long as you don’t mind making an extra stop. Just let me know so I know if I need to catch the bus or not!
We are naming our kid Emmetalie if we ever get one. The middle name is going to be Baseball. Does that work for you, hon? --Growing Up Cullen

Okay.
I’ll txt you tomorrow to make sure I still have your #. I listed mine above, so if you don’t hear from me by 5:30, give me a call.
Otherwise, count on me driving.

I’ll miss everyone at Risky’s on Sunday afternoon, just had my dance card filled by forces outside, will still try and see if I can meetcha at the Toros game.
I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused....

Sooo,
I don’t know if Wes and I will be able to meet everyone at Risky’s (mostly because I have no money to blow on food). We’ll definitely be at the game tomorrow night. How are we ensuring that we all get seats together? Meeting out front?

Yeah.
Meet in front of the ticket office at 6:30. Try to come to Risky’s, though, even if you don’t get anything.

will do my best to meet you folks
I really hate that all of a sudden I could be on the outside of this thanks to a friday afternoon phone call. For the sake of reference in case I can show up, I am a middle aged fat bastard ( hey I’m a big guy, and it’s not like I’m dating anyone here) with short dark hair struck with grey and silver who is partial to big dog shirts, so if you see me aimlessly wandering around the box office before then, that’s most likely me.

In my case
Just look for the white Diamondbacks jersey, #17 with AZSNAKEPIT.COM lettering on the back. Like you, however, I am a middle aged fat bastard. You can probably add “short” to that. Unless you’re ’Skins, in which case I am tall. :-)

Lame. What time do you think you'll get there?
I’m the dark-haired midget in a Mark Reynolds shirt, and my cell # is above, if you come after the game has begun, gimme a ring or a txt and I’ll tell you what section we’re in.

My health and financial situation (or the lack thereof right now in both cases)
… might preclude me from coming tonight, we’ll see how I feel later though and who I can mug possibly

Well,
I’m at Risky’s right now, the Snakepits will be here in a few and katers will be here in about 30 min. Emily txted me, she and Zephon aren’t coming, but they’ll be at the Toros game tonight.

My, that was fun
Thanks to ’Skins, katers, Zephon and emily for sharing the day and the game with us. Full report to follow tomorrow, but it was a grand time, and a good dry-run for SnakePitFest.
Just no-one mention midgets to ’Skins. :-)

Okay, now,
I don’t QUITE understand why it cracks you and Chris up so much when I tell midget stories or say the word midget.

fates conspired
my apologies for not making the meet. Things, family, self, stars, planets were simply not in conjunction to allow my prescence to be there during that time in the current space time continuum.

Ah.
That’s a shame. Zephon was proposing that we ban you for not showing up. We’re thinking probation might be more appropriate. ;-)

well so long as
it’s double secret probation with a possibility that I could have my charter revoked, then I’m all for it, as long as a toga party isn’t required to get me off the hook. Not sure how many virginal mayoral daughters exist these days, would have to consult the fangraphs to check on my chances.

Yeah,
FanGraphs hasn’t expanded to include those chances yet.
