I saw this. Great stuff. We don’t know how fortunate we are as DBack fans we can watch this kid, regardless of how the team’s going. It’s truly like watching a young Willie Mays.

we have ZERO chance of keeping him here. Trade him now

his value will never be higher.

no, I wasn't.

I’m not going to invest the time or energy forming attachments to a player that will get outta town as fast as his contact allows.
doesn’t mean I hope he doesn’t do well while he’s here, but, meh……

Impatient

You won’t invest time or energy in a player who will be with the team for the next 5 years? That’s an eternity in modern baseball. Anyway, chances are that we will buy him out of all his arbitration years and extend him into at least a couple of his truely prime years.

Conversely, it would be foolish for the team to “lock him up” now, as a 21 year old. Granted, I feel they brought him up too fast to begin with, but the franchise knows what they have in him. Upton will be the face of this franchise for a goodly while. Go ahead and buy his booble head.

I guess

I’d agree if there was a great offer, but who knows.

Funny, Brown doesn't offer a degree in slut!

On early pace

for the 2nd best offensive season, ever, by a Diamondback

1. Gonzo 2001
2. Upton 2009
3. Gonzo 1999

Using which metric? OPS?

(Sorry, I know we’re not officially on speaking terms)

Jim Zorn, 55. Sean Miller, 40. AJ Hinch, 34. Notice a pattern here?
