D-backs Fancast launched
Dan - better known here as Wimb - has put his mad tech skillz to good use and put together the first in what will hopefully be a weekly feature through the season, a podcast on the Diamondbacks. Call it the 'AZ SnakePod' if you want. [Or not...] I'm going to be a guest on the show, so it'll be two guys with funny accents talking about baseball. ;-) Click play below to listen to the 25 minute show.
For more information, or to download it for mobile purposes, go to http://wimb.podbean.com/ and you can also send any questions, comments and suggestions to azfancast (at) googlemail.com. Enjoy! I'm really looking forward to being a tiny part of this as we go through 2009. We'll have more audio later in the day, in the shape of KTAR interviews with Orlando Hudson, who returns to Chase tonight, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert, and president Derrick Hall.

Thanks Jim!
Jim deserves a big thanks for help getting me the audio clips and getting up early to speak to me on the phone! :D
Seriously though I’m looking for as much imput from you guys as possible because I want it to be a fancast not just what me and Jim think! So if anyone has anything they want discussed or looked at, or any suggestions at all please let me know!
Time for another drink then?

Great work, Wimb!
Keep it up!
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Yes!
This is very very well done! Great job guys. I was hoping this would happen and what you put together was better than I was hoping for .
Is there a way to get this onto iTunes so people can subscribe there? Will increase your traffic and the whole auto-dload to an ipod/iphone thing is awesome.

Very sharp production
Fine speaking voice, writing. I like how you incorporated KTAR audio, crowd noise, etc to break up the text. Excellent sound, altho Jim’s voice (like mine) tends to fade in and out on podcasts… an issue on our ends, not yours :-)
That said, you have an awful lot of content here and I was kind of fading out towards the end…me and sergey ;-). I think the factual recaps derived from elsewhere could be less detailed – in favor of more that is unique to you. More commentary and interviews, perhaps. A trivia puzzler? Music? Or simply a shorter show.
This is a fine production, but my sense is the tone is a bit on the serious, maybe even derivative side, like you’re trying to be the BBC or something :-) For alot of people, that would be no criticism at all – more of a compliment. But my hunch is you’re a very bright, interesting guy with good instincts – and my advice is to let your hair down a bit, experiment, and make some mistakes.
The show, right now, seems like 80% Dback recitation and 20% you, and is very good. Moving to 50-50, might make it even more interesting.
Cheers

Hey Hacks
Thanks for that.
I must admit I was debating with the last segment especially due to the length of the show. I guess I was worried that maybe people expected a longer length due to the show being weekly.
I very much think this is going to be a show that evolves over the weeks and posts like the one above will only help me so thanks very much for the imput :)
Time for another drink then?
