Oh God

well technically it is 2009

I guess it’s only natural for a player to have an injury that mimics what happened to the fanbase expectations after what happened this past year.

I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused....

Hmmm....

I think this probably means the rectus abdominis muscle, as the alternative – the medial rectus muscle – is located behind the eye. The former is on your stomach – basically, there’s one either side of your belly-button running vertically down. Basically, it’s what forms your six-pack. This will probably be a relatively short-term thing: tearing a muscle is generally a lot less damaging than a tendon or ligament.

Ah, missed the "thigh" part

Make that the rectus femoris muscle. There appear to be rectuses all over the body. :-)

Any injury involving the word rectus

Is not something I would ever want to deal with.

Also, did we do something to piss off the bizzare injury gods?

Doesn't sound serious

Article says that Parra is hoping to be back in Venuzuela in 3 weeks for the post-season.

Updated
Gerardo Parra’s leg injury is not considered serious and he’ll be good to go for spring training, a team spokesman said today. Parra visited with team physician Dr. Michael Lee, who diagnosed the injury as a left quad strain. He will not play again for his winter ball team this year but he will return to Venezuela next week.
