D-backs outright prospects Newby, Carlin
Kyler Newby and Luke Carlin were outrighted to AAA-Reno. They have the option of rejecting the assignment and becoming free agents, although I can only see Carlin possibly doing so, as he has some major-league experience, while Newby played at Mobile last year. Likely opening some spots for the Rule 5 Draft, or for acquiring a veteran piece through trade for prospects that aren't on the 40-man roster.

What do you think IHSB and Zephon? They both seem kind of like no brainer moves to me.

Yeah, pretty much a no brainer
This gives the dbacks the option of picking up a starter via the rule 5 draft.

Yes.
It’s pretty obvious. Carlin is terrible, and Newby is too old for his level (plus saw a massive drop in K-rate). Not sure of our odds of getting a legit 4th starter in the Rule 5, but perhaps a bullpen arm isn’t too far out of the question. It would be on the cheap.
