Garland's option declined
The Dodgers have declined Jon Garland's mutual 10 million dollar option for 2010. We will pay the 2.5 million buyout, because of the terms of the Tony Abreu trade.

This does render
All the fuss about trading him to a divisional rival somewhat silly, doesn’t it?

Really?
I had thought there were rumors that we had a deal that the Dodgers wouldn’t pick up the option from the start.
Besides, I’d say the fact that A) he wasn’t on the post-season roster, and B) the DBacks were pretty awful this year should have made all the fuss somewhat silly…
