What kind of Minor League related articles would you like to see on the snakepit?
Along with the 5 part draftee report card, me and IHSB are already working on a two-three part top 25 prospect list. My question for the posters on the Snakepit is, what other kind of minor league focused articles would you like to see on the Snakepit? Should I do more spotlight articles like i used to write, that focus on one player? Prospect smackdowns between two prospects, that ask the question of who is the better prospect? Minor league affiliate Reviews/Previews? Draft report cards for other years? I'm just trying to get some ideas for some articles down the line, now that I'm actually writing with some frequency now. I'm asking now because I like plenty of time in advance to work on my articles. Any suggestions and ideas are welcome.

Who is going to
be protected on the 40 man roster from the upcoming rule 5 draft. Also who will be at AAA and could get called up with a good start.

The 40 man rosters have to be set before the rule 5 draft in december...
So I might not have the time to get it done before then, but if i do, I’ll definately try to get an article written. The dbacks cleared a bunch of room on their 40 man roster with the loss Slaten, Oeltjen, Petit, Cabrera, Tracy, Schoenweis, and Doug Davis. So I’m fairly certain we won’t lose anyone of importance, if at all in the rule 5 draft.
An article on possible call ups next year is a great idea, and gives me a looser time frame to get that done. I’ll definately add that to me list of things to write.

Has been officially covered. :-)

Non-player players?
I’ve always been intriqued about the management and coaches down on the farm.
MLB teams today put A LOT of stock in producing “home grown” players, but then we hear reports that those guys are forced to eat McDonalds everyday because of a $10 per diem for food, and have questionable instructors teaching them at an important stage in their development.
Also like the ideas from watcher.

An interesting idea on the whole management and coaches down on the farm
But that’s far from my area of expertise, especially if it’s an in depth article. A general article going over the coaches at each level might be do-able though.

Well a random factoid
Is that we just got a new AA manager – Rico Brogna, IIRC. Former major-leaguer with the Phillies.

Brogna's a good baseball man
who will be a great addition. About time someone woke up and got rid of that horse’s ass de la cruz! Now both AA and AAA are in good hands.

Watcher,
you sound like you’re “in the know” about these guys. What’s the beef with de la cruz? And do you know anything else about Brogna?

I like position-based pieces
Say, covering SS at all the levels; gives me an idea of what we have coming up, and whether we should be looking for someone to plug into the majors short-term, long-term or what.

generally with the prospect smackdowns
I’m going to look at two guys at the same position, so that kind of fits in with that… but a series of a articles that looks at the depth at each position would be interesting as well.

Down the road
it would be nice to get a monthly “round-up” of what’s going on.
Can somebody please throw away this telephone?

A monthly round up is definately possible
now that i’m finding writing a lot easier.

All of the above look good, but I’d particularly like the ‘smackdown’ articles as well as grading various classes.
Thanks for the work!
