Kim v.2
Are there rumors about Kim and the Diamondbacks? If so, did YOU start these rumors? ;)
Anything else you can tell us about him? I like players who represent Korean power hitters.

Tae-Kyun Kim
His Wikipedia page makes for interesting reading. Summary of the interesting points:
- Career .308 hitter, .936 OPS – that’s not bad, though obviously it’s hard to tell what level of pitching that was against.
- 27 years old, so basically in his prime.
- Hit 31 home-runs in 115 games to lead the league in 2008.
- Went 10-for-29 in the WBC with three HR and 11 RBI
- His homers were off Dice-K, Oliver Perez and Carlos Silva.
- Only one error in 95 games last year.
Intriguing. There’s only been two Korean position players I can think of in the majors – Hee Seop Choi and Shin Soo Choo – so if there’s any truth to this at all, I am impressed that our front-office is truly thinking outside the box.

Very interesting
indeed. Depending on the price, he could be well worth our time.

It's always been Cabrera's control
That’s been his problem. His raw “stuff” is excellent, and that’s why teams keep trying to ‘’fix" him, but none have been able to do it so far. There’s no harm in Arizona having a shot – if they can do it, yes, he’d be a great fifth starter for us in 2010. I forget who was talking in a Gameday Thread [NASCARbernet, maybe?] and saying he thought it was a fairly simple-looking mechanical fix necessary. But we’re far from the first team to have tried. The results last year were just far too many walks.
3 runs in nine innings of work is fine, but nine hits and six walks – a WHIP of 1.67 – is definitely not so impressive. Still, might as well keep trying through spring training, and let him fight it out for the final spot. I still think Buckner, with his new cut fastball, is the most likely candidate yet.
