I hope to see Todd Helton get a World Series ring before he retires...I am just hoping Colorado can knock out the Dogturds...Douchers...Doggers...Dudgers...whatever you choose to call them...and claim the division! Yes, I love hte Rockies as well as the Diamondbacks...

Which leads me to today's game vs the Cubs...Clay Zavada's mishap with a fair ball...well, forget that. His scoreless inning and the Diamondbacks winning the game is much more important!

I’ve never fully understand the Rockie hatred. I mean, I’m no Rockie fan and certainly understand the annoying qualities of Tool-o… but honestly, why should a mid-market team with no history of winning be the source of much angst? Save it up for the Dodgers, Giants, Yankees, and BoSox.

but the thing is that’s about all we got with them. we’ve had much more history with the dodgers and giants and given their historically ballooned payrolls + obnoxious fans + roided superjerks (bonds and manram)… they’re much more sensible targets.

but the process that a team becomes hated doesn’t require a set formula.

Personally, I don’t understand why people seem to have to try and convert me over the Rockies. Every single time, people seem to think that because the Rockies have been pathetic for years, that I should feel sympathetic or something. I’m not buying it, and I hate their stinkin’ guts.

Have to say

My feelings towards the Giants have mellowed enormously since they dumped Bonds. Of course, the Dodgers have Mandy, but must say, the Dodgers fans I’ve met in person have been very cool, making it a lot harder to hate the team. They also have a lot of young talent; their FA acquisitions have often been less than impressive [Jones, Pierre] – frankly, thank heavens for that.

I think it may be easier to lose to a team with a big payroll than one with the same as your own. And, as noted, we have recent post-season history against the Rockies. We’ve never faced any other NL West team in the playoffs.

It’s all fluid and flexible. As noted, I used to hate the Giants a lot more than I do more, while the Dodgers have increased there, since they got Mandy. Right now, the Rockies are #1 on my hit-list, but who knows what it’ll be next year?
