Diamondbacks for sale? NOT...
Discussing the Texas Rangers sale, Tracy Ringolsby says, "Word is two other teams are available — the Houston Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks — although there is no indication that there have been any serious talks with a prospective buyer for either team."
Interesting. On the other hand, it is Tracy Ringolsby...
And officially, it looks like the latter is the truth. Categoricaly denied by Managing General Partner Ken Kendrick: "It's a complete and total fabrication of the highest order."

Looks like yet another unsubstantiated Ringolsby rumor
Said Derrick Hall just now about Tracy Ringolsby’s rumor: "Not even close to being true. Absolutely not.

Tracy Ringolsby
He is usually dead-on in his articles…this coming from a lifelong Coloradan…he is also a class act. I have met him many times

When is he "usually dead-on"?
He’s not a “class act” when he writes about the Diamondbacks. He lets his purple-colored glasses get in the way of his objectivity.

Not on the Diamondbacks
As recently as last year, he was still referring to the place as Bank One Ballpark!

Here's
a fun quote from the article Jim referred to:
Man, those Arizona Diamondbacks are sure easy to please.
They show up at Coors Field for the Rockies home opening series, sweep the three games, and, well, it seems like they should have been popping champagne.
All of a sudden they are puffing their chests, talking about how sweet revenge is, and proclaiming that the weekend in April was a payback for last October.
Yeah, right, winning three games in April alleviates the sting from the Rockies sweeping Arizona in the NLCS. Just exactly how much beachfront property did the Diamondbacks buy in Arizona?
Not exactly “dead-on.” You’d be closer with “over-exaggerated,” “hyerpbolic,” or “projecting,” which as non-fiction writer, he should know is to be avoided.

Troy Renck,
Rockies beat writer for the Denver Post, pretty much called Ringolsby out for that column. (Ringolsby wrote for the now-deceased Rocky Mountain News)

Not a surprise to me
the signs are there of a franchise on the block.
1) jettisoning expensive contracts
2) not reporting actual attendance, but claiming larger than expected attendance;
3) very odd player moves;
4) a general organizational malaise
5) no clear signal that the front office is committed to winning
6) it’s all about cutting costs and strengthening equity with no clear vision for the next couple of years.
I know people are going to argue about it, but that’s my view. I’ve seen this sort of thing before.

Maybe
but Moorad still hasn’t sold his 12% stake in the team. So maybe what Ringolsby is hearing is an attempt to sell Moorad’s part.

That seems possible
obviously, its all just speculation on our parts. As I’ve written before, I want to see sports – oriented ownership dedicated to winning, rather than just simply being another business operation. That said, it would mean new owners would have to have deep pockets, and really enjoy the competition of the game, and not just the racing Gracies. . .

So, yeah.
I feel okay with continuing to hate Tracy Ringolsby, and I propose that somebody should make a rule banning him from ever writing about the Dbacks. The guy’s a turd with a typewriter.
