He is a very likeable guy, a great teammate, and never failed to provide an amusing quote or story to the press. But this is the town of Pete Rose, and if you aren’t a scrappy hustler, then you’re trash. People here didn’t like his strikeouts, they were put off by his defense, and were upset that he didn’t show improvement as a player (never mind penciling him in for 40 home runs, 100 RBI, 100 runs, and 100 walks every year). They wanted him to be Albert Pujols, and couldn’t wrap their minds around the fact that while his batting average was really low, his OBP was really high.

I said their reporters would love Eric Byrnes, so maybe we can work out a trade.

Besides, I’m like 40 miles away from you. I’m relatively sure that you can’t throw your TV that far, and pretty sure that, even if you could, it wouldn’t be with much accuracy.
