Asinine is the word that comes to mind. Geez.

Ridiculous. The guy sounds like a bit of a 1) jerk; 2) idiot… but neither of those things warrant the treatment he received.

My default (ie political) inclination

is to sympathize with the urinator, but several aspects of his story sound fishy.

First, he goes to 8 or 10 Yankee games a year, but wasnt aware of the God Bless America policy?

Second, he says he had to go really really bad, but ends up relieving himself 45 minutes later at his GF’s apartment, when there are establishments with facilities up and down River Ave, within a good healthy stream of the stadium.

And finally, as commented on Deadspin, would notoriously lazy (in his words) NYC cops bother to frogmarch a guy down five levels simply for trying to take a pee?

I suppose it’s all possible, but critical pieces of this story appear to be missing.

Yup

So true….It just sounds fishy. Like Njjohn said he sounds like a jerk and an idiot and I’m sure he is making some of it up or is actually leaving some out.

According to the cops

“A police spokesman said Campeau-Lampion was thrown out because he was "standing on his seat cursing, using inappropriate language and acting in a disrespectful manner while reeking of alcohol.” – Link

Hang on… Cursing? Reeking of alcohol? Acting in a disrespectful manner? I thought those were all required behavior for card-carrying Yankees fans? :-) And an independent witness is also contradicting the police story.

Hmm

Even the witness that Yankees Stadium put in touch with the news station doesn’t really support the police story.
