Possible Line up shifts in the desert
On dbacks.com they stated that with Upton coming back soon they may make some shifts. This would put Upton in RF like usual Dunn to 1st, Tracy to 3rd where he played when he first joined the ball club Reynold would play 2nd which he stated was comfortable for him since he played there many times before including in AA ball, he has also been practicing fielding ground balls in that spot and flipping balls to 2nd base. The rest of the line up would remain the same Co-Jack LF, Drew SS, Young CF, Snyder or Monterro C. I personally like this idea for the offensive aspect of things, but Reynolds at 2nd kinda raises a red flag for me. He could be good there be he could also be terrible i dont know. He has made some great web gems this year but he is also the league leader in errors over at the hot corner. I personally thought they should put Upton at 2nd which he played his whole career leading up to the majors even tho it was just middle school and high school haha. What are your guys' thoughts?

In a bit of depth, here. It basically depends whether you think the offensive boost at second is going to be worth the defensive hit we take from playing Reynolds over Ojeda. My instinct is not, and one of the topics that came up at the Q+A over the weekend was that Tracy’s knees are probably not up to the task of playing third regularly. I think they’ll platoon Tracy.

Do you
think they’ll platoon Tracy with Reynolds at 3rd, or Jackson at 1st? Seems a bit funny to platoon Tracy with another lefty (Dunn) at 1st.

"Platoon"
Might not be the right word; I really meant he’ll end up splitting playing time. I think he’ll be a backup, mostly at first, but also occasionally at third. However, that all depends on Upton a) coming back and b) hitting. They really don’t seem in any hurry to get him back at the moment.

Reynolds may play 2B next year, once he has time to work on it during the offseason,
if we can’t sign Mark Ellis, that is. But it won’t be this year — not while we’re in a pennant race.
On another note, would you email me your address so I can send you a copy of The Elements of Style? Your posts would be MUCH easier to read if broken up by proper punctuation.
