3rd player named in Dunn deal
According to John Fay, the Reds beat writer for the Cincinatti Enquirer, the third player going to the Reds in the Dunn trade is catcher Wilkin Castillo. Supposedly our 14th best prospect going into the season, he had decent numbers for Tucson. He also played games at 3B, SS, and OF. I don't know a whole lot about him, so I can't say I'm too upset with him being included in the package. Still not too thrilled with losing Micah though.

That was my guess.
This was first reported a few days ago.

Castillo named on XM as well
And did you see Burke’s homer today? Gamecast made it look like it landed in Boulder. I guess he hasn’t heard that the other PTBN is Micah. He thinks he’s playing for his job…again.

They probably were just confused.
Compared to everything else Burke’s put in play this year, that was a mammoth shot.

If he homers
because he thinks he’s playing for his job, then they should just let a rumor out every day that he’s about to be traded or DFA’d.

Burke doesn't have to play for his job
If he hasn’t lost it already, he never will.

In his defense
Since the All-Star break, he’s hitting a good bit better – ..240/.296/.480 for a .776 OPS. Admittedly, that’s only 25 at-bats, bit it’s still an improvement on the .188/.307/.214 he posted in the first half, a .521 OPS.

That is a nice improvement
Maybe we can look at it like this:
The REAL Chris Burke (the one we thought we were getting in the Valverde trade) missed his flight and had to walk here from Houston. He arrived in Phoenix just after the All-Star break. The reason he hit so poorly in the first half of the season was because he wasn’t really there. .188/.307/.214 for the ghost of Chris Burke, is actually quite remarkable.
And now it’s time for me to stop procrastinating and get to work.

Diamondbacks send RHP Owings to Reds
1 hour, 33 minutes ago
PHOENIX (AP)—The Arizona Diamondbacks sent pitcher Micah Owings to the Cincinnati Reds on Friday to complete the August trade for slugger Adam Dunn.
The Diamondbacks said Owings would be in his new Reds uniform Friday night when Cincinnati visits Arizona.
Owings did fine at the plate this season, hitting .288 with a home run, two doubles and three RBIs in 22 games with the Diamondbacks. But the 25-year-old struggled on the mound, going 6-9 with a 5.93 ERA and was sent down to Triple-A Tucson on July 29.
Owings went 4-for-5, including a pair of homers, drove in six runs and scored four times in a game against the Atlanta Braves last year. His 11 total bases were the most by a pitcher since 1942.
The Diamondbacks sent minor league pitcher Dallas Buck and two players to be named to Cincinnati for Dunn on Aug. 11. The Reds previously got minor league catcher Wilkin Castillo from Arizona as part of the deal.

Best of Luck Micah! I know you’ll have a great future in the sport now that you’ve left the vortex of suck, the DBacks.
