AZ SnakePit Fantasy Baseball: Week 17

Week 17 Results

AZ SnakePit 3, Wimboes Barmy Army 7
A solid pitching performance from their pitching staff gave Wimboes the game, with a team ERA below three. Mussina (Win and seven strikeouts) led them there, and Abreu (seven Runs and seven RBI) helped them at the plate. Taveras stole four bases for SnakePit, who hit .296.

Douchebaggery 7, Arizona Muugens 3
Douche took all five hitting points, with Davis (8 R, 3 HR) their player of the game - Werth homered twice as well. Muugens fought back on the mound, but had too much of a mountain to climb. Johnson's two scoreless victories was their best performance; Vasquez fanned 13 for Douche.

dbacktom 4, Desert Storm BC 6
Rios and Dye each had three HR for Storm, though Loney's seven RBI kept things close for tom. Lester also had tom's only two wins and fourteen K's for them, but Storm got three saves from Lidge to get a crucial point. Shields and Rodriguez each had a W and 7 K's.

The Fighting Amish 5, Desert Dingleberries 3
A close game, with W and RBI ending tied, but Amish took HR and K by a single tally, and those categories proved decisive. Granderson scored ten Runs for Desert, and Victorino had three HR; Lincecum (Amish) struck out thirteen, while Sherrill and Kobayashi notched saves for the winners.

Tucson Myth 3, Ignatius J. Rallies 7
Delgado (four HR, ten RBI) was the star offensive performer, though Rallies got seven runs from Jones to keep in touch after the hitting categories. They then pulled away in pitching, behind a Win and three Saves from Torres, while Arroyo chipped in with a Win and seven K's.

7-2 Offsuiters 4, GregSchulteOverdrive 4
An entertaining game saw honors finish even, with hitting and pitching both being split 2-2 with one category (HR and W respectively) tied. Cabrera (7-2) drove in 13 and Bay had three HR, but Peralta scored seven Runs and Pence had two SB for Greg. Lee had a W and 10 K for 7-2.

Adriano Rosario's 3, warlords 6
This was a slugfest, the teams combining for 24 homers. Braun had four for Adriano, but was matched by Laroche for war. The latter also batted .310 overall, and got five wins, with Papelbon getting a W and 2 Saves. Harden struck out 20 for Adriano, with Kazmir adding 14.

Crazy VIII's 8, last place 1
This was an easy victory for VIII, behind Gonzalez (7 R, 3 HR, 9 RBI) at the plate, and Peavy (W + 15 K) on the mound. Quentin homered four times for last, but their only point came in ERA, where they pipped the opposition by 0.06. SB were tied at one apiece. Rodriguez had three saves for VIII.

Kapsaicin Kids 2, Shenanigans 2.0 6
NL Player of the Week Jackson led Shen (9 R, 3 HR, .542), though Guillen scored 12 Runs for Kids. A Win and 14 K's for Maholm powered Shen on the mound, and they also got four saves from Hoffman. RBI and W ended tied, but Shen had a solid ERA of 2.83 and a sub-one WHIP.

Blonde Streaks 4, SHUperMen 5
Blonde struggled desperately to score, managing only eight RBI in total - Kouzmanoff, by himself, had more (nine, and two homers) for SHU, who also hit over .300. Blonde did bounce back in pitching, behind Haren (W + 9 K) and Jenks (three saves). WHIP ended level.
