The problem with Bay
Is he’s signed through 2009 too. Do we just turn Byrnes into a very, very well-paid fourth outfielder? Or maybe we can return him to CF, where the level of offense required is significantly lower – right now, I think a fit Byrnes and Young are about a wash, offensively. The idea of Bonifacio + Owings for Bay is possible, but club officials have denied the reports that we’re looking at Bay. They mention Raul Ibanez instead.
Darn.
I was sorta liking the idea of getting Jason Bay.
