The Senior Circuit is kicking the Junior League's ASS this year
Story by SI's Tom Verducci on why the American League has suddenly become more of a pitcher's league (screw you, DH!!) and the National League is suddenly hitting much better and vastly outscoring those pretenders in the AL. Hmmm.... could it be a sign that, after years of the NL trying to play AL ball, the trend is reversing? Smallball and pitching are in vogue, at the end of the homerun-based Steroid Era? Read the article to find out.

All this won't mean anything until interleague
The boys in Sedona Red slugged it out with a pretty pesky poltergeist, then stayed on to dance the night away with some of the lovely ladies who witnessed the disturbance.

Interleague
doesn’t necessarily paint a full picture either, since teams only play a scant few teams in the other league.

That's true
but looking at two leagues playing internally doesn’t mean anything either. The only we’ll ever solve this is by a dancing contest between the NL and the AL.

They just jealous cuz they's gonna get served....
Well, when you’re looking at league-wide trends over the past few years, I think Verducci has some pretty good points. Also, somehow, the AL has dropped in offense despite losing a few of their top pitchers, like Haren and Santana. The NL has climbed despite losing Barry Bonds. Naturally, these are very token examples. But could you see Livan Hernandez at 6-1 at this point last year?? SOMETHING is happening in that league….
