I remember
when we were so proud to get like 100+ posts 3 days in a row.
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Yes but.....
We didnt have the women here then... *ducks*

Heh...
not quite sure what to make of that comment.
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Not that there are many of us now!
I believe hotclaws was here awhile before me... plus 4 Corners Fan right?
I was told......
it doesnt take many for the comments to expand exponentially..... *allegedly*

that makes sense
if you bring in two to three more regulars the number of personalities increases and therefore opinions are differ and are more often voiced.

I think the suggestion, seton hall,
was more along the lines of, "women talk a lot".

Well,

A wise decision, to be sure.

I don't know how I feel about this
New thread, 2 out?
This can't be good no matter what. Either they're going to
1.) End the inning
2.) They're going to score, and we're going to have to make a new thread every time there are 2 outs and we need some runs.
Well done Byrnsie
took about 14 goesto get that posted

But a lead for us. Let's keep it going!

nice to see
everyone contributing to big hits this year.... Young slacks off, Byrnes picks him up.....
Drew, Reynolds, Orlando --- all our hitters are stepping up this year.
Still, got the lead back,
got rid of the starting pitcher
We will meet in Red 3 at the hour of scampering.
micah needs a quick inning
get him to throw into the eighth would be big for the bullpen. They could use the two day rest

Depending if you're

I like how, according to Gameday, there's only a 6 mph difference between Micah's fastball and changeup.
"Look what it's done for us. People still don't recognize us but..." *snaps fingers*
"We're contenders now!"
Yeah, I saw that.
Dunno why they think that. His range has been from about 92 to 78 on the TV's gun.
90+ for Micah now.
Certainly no chance of stretching him through 8.
Good time for a double play though. You'll have about ten years to make the turn with Andruw lumbering over to second.
Ks for Micah today?
Doesn't seem like a lot...

Owings stays in to face Ethier.
Probably not that surprising giving Slaten's results against Andre last night.
Nice play by Hudson.
Defense pretty much spot on today, as usual. Micah safely through seven, six more outs to go.
Yeah
Big plus for our bullpen.
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Pretty good outing for Kuroda,
considering the way our bats have been onfire lately; but after the first time through the order, we got something like 9 hits, 2 BBs and 1 HBP. Let's see how we do against him NEXT time.
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
I liked Kuroda
I think he'll be a BIG factor in the pennant race this year

Is that what Hudson is asking for? 60M over 4 years?
by Huxtable Reunion on Apr 9, 2008 6:07 PM EDT reply actions
All rumors
But he is said to be seeking "Chase Utley money" in Chase's free agent years, which is about $15M per. Not sure where the 4 years came from, but it was in the paper today (Tribune)
by Craig from Az on Apr 9, 2008 6:08 PM EDT up reply actions
Then, no, Hudson's not quite worth Utley money. But he's not all that far behind. 50M for 4 years is what I've got in mind.
by Huxtable Reunion on Apr 9, 2008 6:09 PM EDT up reply actions
That sounds eminently reasonable.
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Speculation on Dbacksbullpen
Letting O-Dawg go (can't affort him). Moving Upton or Reynolds to second base (OUCH!). Open up a spot for Tracy. Spend the money on a pitcher to replace Big Unit.

Looks like one hell of a game, each team has had the lead twice now. Good outing by Micah to go seven, just what we needed. Qualls and Lyon for the last two, or do we throw him out there again for the eighth?

by Craig from Az on Apr 9, 2008 6:20 PM EDT up reply actions
I think it's premature to demote. He's not the only closer to have it tough at the outset. See Hoffman, Gagne. Yes, those two have more experience, but Lyon has the most experience of any of our closer candidates.

BCB had more than 2000 posts for last night's game, which granted went into extra innings. But of course, they're not exactly the measuring stick for the typical SBNation turnout, popular as they are.
