Doug Davis Get Well Soon Thread
Per multiple requests... here it is. Feel free to leave your wishes / thoughts for Doug Davis. Jim will then print and send off to DD via the front office.
I'll go first:
Best wishes for a speedy recovery DD. Your efforts against LA were inspiring, but can't really touch the inspiration shown by your bigger, more important battle to come. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Get well soon. Can't wait to see you back pitching for the Diamondbacks! Hopefully this reminds all of us that at the end of the day this is just a game and there are more important things in life than baseball. You have a bunch of fans here in the SnakePit and across the country rooting you on.

Thinking and praying for you
Doug...I wish you all of the best and a speedy recovery from your surgery. Thank you for reminding us that even while we are split over team loyalty, and we love our baseball players as our own friends, that we can never lose sight of what is really important, and it's not baseball, but it's our lives; our friends and family.
Here's hoping that you have a speedy recovery and that you are back on the mound soon!
God bless!

From someone who's been there (I had cancer as a kid), I can tell you that the road you're going on sure as hell won't be easy, but there is an end to the tunnel. Just keep your eye on that goal and full speed ahead man. Heck, you've had to pitch against players like Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols, and David Wright. Cancer's got nothing in comparison ;-)
Also, if you ever feel the need for a laugh, check out gotcancer.org. I know it helped me get a good laugh when I really needed it. Good luck and best wishes!

Doug-
My then 22 year brother got thyroid cancer. Now, 12 years later, he is married with two kids (and a third on the way,) and is living a perfectly normal life. He did it, and so can you.
