Well, they're introducing players in Denver, and we don't have a Gameday thread up yet, so I figure we should have someplace to chatter on about the game.  Assuming other people are around too, I hope.  *looks around nervously*

Pretty quiet from the crowd while they introduced the D-backs, except for a burst of boos when Byrnes came on the field.  I guess the fans are still holding a grudge over those comments back around the NLCS...

Thanks for putting up the Gameday Thread

I don't know how to do that. Can anybody do that?

I just started a Fanpost (which everyone can do) and stole Jim's title formating. Can't get it to the main portion of the page, but people should notice it, I'd think.

Lineup

Young
Burke (still no CoJack)
Hudson
Byrnes
Snyder
Reynolds
Upton
Drew
Owings

Upton and Young lead that lineup with .200 batting averages (yuck). Our best hitter might be batting ninth!

by Craig from Az on Apr 4, 2008 3:53 PM EDT reply actions

I keep thinking we should put Byrnes somewhere other than cleanup. Why not put Young there?

I'm keen to the idea of

switching Young and Byrnes. Not sure it makes sense or why I think that, I just have a feeling about it

Here we go

I can think of nothing better this afternoon that beating our arch-rivals --- but I am extremely nervous with Micah on the mound

Agreed

I look forward to playing the Rockies. I think we've got the makings of a great rivalry between our teams, east coast media be damned.

Just remember, folks

Next time you complain about the Diamondbacks coverage team, compare it to FSN Rocky Mountain. Before they introduced players, I had to sit through a video montage of the Rockies lip-syncing a Nickelback song. Ugh.

We both win tonight

Nice win against the Spurs, the Suns' mortal enemy. Phx went up early on Minnesota by 21 in the 1st quarter and never looked back. A lovely day for both my teams! Dallas comes to town on Sunday after narrowly losing to L.A. tonight. I will be in attendance!

For the record

The Dbacks are 1-0 when I post on a game-day thread. I might have to do this more often.

See ya next day game.

Love the smell of a Dbacks win in the morning!

Great to see us win by a comfortable margin today... Takes a bit of the bitter taste away from the performances of the past 2 days.

Glad to see that the worries about Owings may be a bit premature.

The One Win to Rule Them All

OK, maybe not.... but in the spirit of the gameday thread....

Great win -- great job Micah --- we get Webb tomorrow

Ugh

The FSN Rocky Mountain announcers combine sparkling ineptitude with deep-seated homer-ism. They're terrible. I can't wait to be back in Arizona...

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, though. Webb looked good against the Reds, and the Rockies seem to have left their bats in the NLCS. Could be another good game.

Apparently I need to eat at the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet more often. Things went well when I was gone.

I did catch the first four innings on the TV there. The first inning was particularly enjoyable.

Good win today

exactly how the Diamondbacks need to win games. They didn't strike out much, they got on base and put the ball into play. The pitching was nearly perfect, lots of strikes and balls going in on the hitters.

Hopefully the Diamondbacks will be able to build on this as a blueprint for success. You won't always score 8 or more runs a game, but the same principles are always in effect: get on base and put the ball in play.

The boys in Sedona Red slugged it out with a pretty pesky poltergeist, then stayed on to dance the night away with some of the lovely ladies who witnessed the disturbance.

Silverblood's sister has made the national media- her sign was shown on the FSN Rocky Mountain broadcast a couple of times, and now the AP wire photos...

How do you even respond to that?

"Baseball is back!" Yes, yes it is, and thank the heavens for that.
