Diamondbacks 10th best Franchise in all of Sports
ESPN just recently did a rating of the best sports franchises in all of sports and guess who was number 10. The Diamondbacks. It feels pretty good to be ranked so high. The rankings were based on fan experience, players efforts, ticket pricing so on and so forth. Its an interesting read to say the least.

Wow, and #3 in all of baseball. Interesting. Higher than I would have expected, but it looks like they rank an equation of (success/salary) pretty highly.
"It's such a fine line between stupid and clever."
Clearly, they're wrong.
We should be number one.
[And the Redskins should be #2… ;-) ]
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
oh of course
but look who is number one. That’s right, that’s my boys.
Baseball season, when everything becomes right in the world.

What?
Reading Football club aren’t number 1? are you kidding me ;) and what about the Thames Valley Bisons?!!
Damn American bias!!! a curse on thee ;)
In all seriousness though… It’s an interesting perspective as to how you measure a franchise (though the word Franchise does send a shiver up my spine)
The one thing that’s always dissapointed me about this orgainisation is the attendance levels for the Diamondbacks. Now getting 40,000 a game isn’t realistic but getting below 20,000 the other night with our number 2 on the mound and when we are the best team in baseball has to rank as a dissapointment.
I only mention this because to me the only way a club can truly be a great organisation is if it inspires people to watch them play. If I had enough money I could bring success and facilities to any place in the world but it doesn’t mean people will follow the team.
Still it’s nice to know that despite all of the money problems and a truly disasterous 2004, the fans are slowly coming back. What’s important is the way the club treats the young fans as they are pretty much the 1st generation of lifelong Diamondback fans and it will be up to that generation to really plant the seeds for family following of the team etc and that is why it’s important to be set up right now, so we don’t lose that generation
Anyways bit of a ramble there :D
