Some parks don't get along with Upton.
For example, baseball parks.

So if Hudson is a Gold Glover...

Wowie wowie wow. Once he's locked in, he's going to be tremendous this season.
Don't blink; blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink. Good luck!
Yeah a few different defensive plays and this is a 4 - 0 game.
Randy would pitch 4 or 5 innings with 6 - 7 Ks, that's a success.
Don't blink; blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink. Good luck!
Has every
Giants hitter bitched to the ump after striking out? Seriously guys, when you swing and miss it ain't the ump's fault.
Peachy, what about....
not even ST IV references... just ST references tonight?

he has to be done
90 pitches in his debut. usually your first start is limited (try not to hit 100) except when your manager is Dusty Baker when he limits to 130 in the first outing
And...
it goes up from there. Whaddya mean, tired arm? Three days rest is all any pitcher needs, son.

J-Up's first move on Rowand's hit was moving back. Then he moves in and he should have just let the ball drop in front of him for a single. But, he cheeses and it results in a double. Then O-Dawg makes a great play to erase Rowand for scoring position ( where he should never have been).
I'll take O-Dawg on a three year $36 mil extension. We need his D with all these other young guys figuring out how to play.
Unfortunately
I don't know that $12 mil a year is going to do it. O-Dawg wants to get paid.

you would hope
I think Utley got a 7yr $85M deal or something like that. That roughly breaks out to $12M/yr so you would think that ODawg could take that payday with ease.
I think the length of the contract would be interesting. He probably wants a longer term deal then a $$ deal. For example, he would take $10M/yr for 5 years instead of $12M/yr for 3

"It's such a fine line between stupid and clever."
Is this normal?
I mean showing fans chowing down all game?
We will meet in Red 3 at the hour of scampering.
I watched The Colour of Magic, and I did laugh at the one line where Sean Astin seemed to put a touch more emphasis on potatoes than was necessary...
"It's such a fine line between stupid and clever."
Like Sean Bean saying "Still Sharp"
about Anduril in LOTR

amazingly endless?

I once met the girl that Gaiman based the character on!

No, you don't, she was the most irritating cow I've ever met.
We will meet in Red 3 at the hour of scampering.
She once told me every colour of blue nail polish
she had ever worn;-/.It took hours in her horrible, squeaky little girl voice.
We will meet in Red 3 at the hour of scampering.
Yeah, I was just looking at the time and realizing I should be getting ready for bed soon...

I'm not going to have time to streak my hair tonight. :(

Ok, back now
The wife needed the puter so I couldn't watch the last 1.5 innings.
I'd like to see a few more innings, but glad Randy is in line for the win.
Don't blink; blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink. Good luck!

Come on, Qualls!

Guh.
So we got all the bad pitching and offense out of the system in the last game against the Rockies...now the defense blunders come in spades.
Grrrr
How many "breaks" are we suppossed to spot these guys?

How can we
Play such sound fundamental baseball for the first two weeks, and be so utterly, utterly sucky today?
What the hell...

Argh....
Screw you, bullpen!!
Oh, and screw you, ump!!
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Why the hell isn't CJ throwing home on that play?
Corner IFs should always throw to home in that situation.
Sheesh.
Because
He wouldn't have got him, the run would have scored and we'd still have had the bases loaded with no outs.
Should have been a double-play, if Qualls had been covering first.
by Jim McLennan on Apr 15, 2008 12:57 AM EDT up reply actions
In that situation a corner IF is supposed to throw home. Period. It's a force play at the plate.
You don't let that run score and have a very solid chance at a double play going 3-2-3.
Only makes sense
If you know you can get the runner. If not, it's utterly pointless.
I know you hate Jackson, and everything he does, but you really should take the blinkers off occasionally.
by Jim McLennan on Apr 15, 2008 1:03 AM EDT up reply actions
It has nothing to do with my feelings toward CJ or any other player. That's the play you make in that situation. Period. End of story. It's fundamental baseball at it's finest.
Finest?
Yes, make a throw that, in all likelihood, gets nobody out... That's the kind of play that puts the "mental" in fundamental. :-)

How is it that the announcers don't seem to notice when the Giants batters foul off a pitch on a hit-and-run?

Because
THEY ARE MENTALLY RETARDED.

Just joining as I was listening/peaking in here while watching the Suns cough up a big lead and then rally in the 4th to beat the Warriors and eliminate them.
Not a pretty game here with the errors and all the unearned runs. Yuck!
