Best Seats at BOB, er Chase Field
Been awhile since I've been to any games other than Spring Training. Partly because baseball the past few years just hasn't been as interesting to me as before (however, I'm getting sucked back in - in a big way!) - but mostly due to price of tickets, concessions, etc.
Factor in the 90 minute (if I'm lucky) drive from up north and attending a game that I can watch from the comfort of my couch isn't always the most attractive proposition.
All that being said - I'm interested in making the trek at least a few times this year.
To the point:
What are the best seats in the park?
Strike that - A better question is:
Where do YOU like to sit when you go?
Provide some rationale, if you would, for your answer. For some it might be purely pricepoint or value - for others it's another reason or three entirely. Would love to hear them.
Thanks.

For me
That said, I think the best seats in the house are in section 122.

Hope This Helps
To the extent that price is a factor, my first piece of advice is that the best seats are the ones you dont buy from the box office. Cheaper tickets can often be found via established ebay sellers or thru word of mouth, etc.
Second, prices and ticket demand vary between games. For example, demand is usually quite low for the games immediately following the home opener (Tues/Wed April 10,11) and good deals are often available, even from scalpers around the park if you're ok with that.
Third, regarding location, there are few if any reasonable values at the ballpark, as your post suggests. But some areas provide more bang for the buck than others. The LF beachers arent the best place to view the game, but with Byrnes -and when LA/SF are in town, Gonzo and Bonds - they can be fun. I'd also consider purchasing the so called $5 seats (which run from $6 to $12), then moving to a section where you can actually see the game without binoculars.
Other than that, if you're on a budget, I'd generally avoid the ballpark, at least until the Diamondbacks demonstrate they're more serious about providing attractive values.
have fun!

some comments and more questions from the newbie
Just from my visits to parks in several different cities the past 20 years or so I'd concur your seats would be much to my liking. I've always tried to sit first base side between the bag and home plate. Don't need to be on the field, but don't want to be too high up either. Think I've just grown accustomed to watching baseball from that vantage point!
Thing is - It's tough to spend $50 a seat, especially with a family of four. Your price as a season ticket holder, while not chump change, is certainly much more palatable.
When all is said and done however, I'd probably rather drop $50 a seat once and actually be able to watch the game from good seats then spend $15 and see 3x the games, but wonder why I wasn't home on my couch. It's not like I'm going to Chase Field for the atmosphere...
Following up on Diamondhack's advice:
Any ticket resell sites people prefer other than the usual suspects (Ebay, Stubhub, etc.)?
Any regular season ticket holders here that post tix for sale or is that verboten?
Anyone else want to chime in with a favored vantage point?

how about the
never sat in those seats, but I think they could be great ?
or the Dugout seats ?
I know they are pretty expensive, but I think you should have a nice view, right ??
(and what about all those benefits, they seem pretty nice too)
I only had tickets in upper deck so far, but the view was still great for someone from europe

nah
never sat in those seats, but I think they could be great ?"
Not worth the money. I've sat there and the views were no better then the upper deck seats 10 feet up.

but
(I mean I could pay a little more for 1 or 2 games)
also which seats are better (not only view, but also service and leg room) infield box or club box seats ??
(I'm just curious, so that I could get some really nice seats the next time I'm in town)

I think I'd rather spend the difference in beer and take the upper deck. I'm like that though.

That I can't help you with. I sat even with 1st, 8 rows up from the visitor dugout once. Hated it. I'm not sure which box that is. Probably infield.

food
'An opportunity to purchase an all-inclusive food and beverage package' (only for Legacy members)
does anyone has an idea how much it cost ?
(anyway, since it is for legacy members only, and the cheapest seats are 5500$, it probably is very expensive)
but anyway, I'm just curoius if someone knows the prize ??
thx
