Silver Slugger Awards
Micah Owings picked up the silver slugger award today, so congratulations must go to Mr Owings o/
With the Red Sox going to a 6 man rotation, how about we balance out the baseball universe and go to a 4 man rotation just to get Micah to bat more ;)
Other winners can be found here Here
Was Jeter really the best SS in the AL this season? I would have given it to Cabrera to be honest.
Can't argue with many others though!

Just came here to post that
- BA: .333 (next, Kip Wells .321)
- OBP: .349 (Willis, .348)
- SLG: .683 (Willis, .508)
- H: 20 (tied with Hudson and Zambrano)
- 2B: 7 (Penny, 6)
- HR: 4 (Willis, Zambrano, Cain, 2)
- Extra-base hits: 12 (Willis, 7)
- RBI: 15 (Hudson, 9)
But, wait! There's more...
Owings ended the year with an OPS of 1.032, the best by a pitcher since Carl Scheib reached 1.041 for the 1951 Philadelphia Athletics. Discount Owings' PH appearances (where he "only" went 1-for-4 with two walks!), and his OPS is 1.048, the highest since Charlie Hickman in 1899, and he almost played as many games in the outfield (7) as he pitched (11).
Considering Next Post-Season :)
