Fielding Bible Awards

The people at Fielding Bible gave out their 2007 awards.

Somehow, Eric Byrnes won for LF.  He "was the Major League leader in left field in plus/minus (+28) as well as one of the leaders in Good Fielding Plays (23)." I can only assume that Good Fielding Plays are how they track "poor routes to balls resulting in spectacular looking catches."

Interesting...
Even after losing the rest of his season, O-Dawg was still only 2 points behind the leader at 2nd.
Come on, Sandy Baby, loosen up. You're too tight.

Getting a fair few points as well :o

Yeah, I thought that was interesting,
given he didn't have that many starts later in the year.

For the record, here's how the Dbacks players ranked against their position, along with how many points the winner scored and where they matched up:

Byrnes, LF, 1st place, 85 (2nd place was Crawford at 82)
O-Dawg, 2B, 2nd place, 82-80
Snyderman, C, 10th place, 83-25
Quentin, RF, t-13th place, 73-8
Webby, P, t-13th place, 62-13
CY, CF, 18th place, 86-1
Hernandez 2.0, P, t-23rd place, 62-7

It's not really been mentioned much
But does the defensive weaknesses of J-Dawg mean there is still a place for CQ? who would you rather have CQ or Salazar...

If CQ
can hit in the major leagues again, then I'd want him over Salazar no questions asked.
Stay grindy, my friends.
